Information About Renting the Alois Walter House
- The Alois Walter House is a one bedroom house so no more than three persons will be allowed to occupy the house.
- The shed area and back part of the property are not part of the rental, those are reserved for use by the property owners. The back yard and old barn are part of the rental and available for use by residents. The old barn has washer and drier hook ups. It serves as both outdoor storage and laundry room for the house.
- Pets are allowed but no more than two and they can weigh no more than 40 pounds
- Residents may park no more than two vehicles at the house and no RVs, motor homes or large commercial trucks are allowed.
- The Alois Walter House is a no smoking residence.
- A security deposit equivalent to one months rent will be required before move in.
- Financial and criminal background checks may be performed on applicants
- Because the Alois Walter House is an historical house no changes can be made to the house without the permission of the owner
- Because the Alois Walter House is established as a specialized landscape (Texas native plants) no changes can be made to the landscaping without the permission of the owner. The owner will also be involved maintaining and improving the landscaping it with additional plantings over the next several years.
- Most of all, it is important to remember that Alois Walter House is a 165 year old historic structure which was modernized to be comfortable but much of the construction and basic look of the house has been purposely preserved or restored to maintain a 19th Century feel. So perspective residents should keep this in mind.
